We had been hoping to go to the Castle Combe Mini Action Day but can’t commit till late on due to the uncertainty of my health. The Welsh Mini Group were fully booked when we looked but then Luxe MINI appeared and had places. We applied and they made us feel very welcome.
There was a very impressive collection of cars on the stand and all seemed very tastefully personalised. This allied to the neat arrangement of the cars either side of the gazebo meant that the stand won a prize for being the best stand at the show. It was a well deserved accolade for a team who had clearly gone to a lot of trouble.
We took a walk around the show which to my eyes had an even split of BMW MINIs and classic Minis. The trade stands though as usual were geared to the classics. Nonetheless we still came away with some goodies- a groovy MINI bag in chilli red and some monochrome Union Jack badges.
We said hello to our pals on the Welsh Mini Group who we will be seeing again tomorrow as we go to the car show at Margam country park with them. With good weather it will hopefully be as good a day as today.
We even spotted a Citroen Cactus at the event. Clearly lost as it was a Mini event but I will forgive it as I rather admire these quirky cars.
